Natasha Akpoti to Akpabio’s Wife: Let Your Husband Defend Himself

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has urged Ekaette Akpabio, wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, to step back from defending her husband over allegations of sexual advances.
During an interview on Arise TV on Friday, Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, alleged that the Senate President had made sexual advances toward her both in his office and at his residence in Akwa Ibom.
In response, Ekaette Akpabio dismissed the claims as false, stating that her husband is a disciplined man. She has also filed fundamental rights and defamation lawsuits against the Kogi senator.
In a letter dated March 1, Akpoti-Uduaghan, through her lawyer, Victor Giwa, emphasized that she does not wish to involve Ekaette in the matter. She advised the Senate President’s wife to prioritize her well-being and allow her husband to respond to the allegations himself.
“Our client is not interested in dragging you into this unfortunate situation and urges you to refrain from further involvement,” the letter reads.
“Having endured harassment from the Senate President, she was left with no choice but to reveal the distressing experiences she has faced in the Red Chambers.
“These allegations are strictly between our client and the Senate President. She believes he is fully capable of defending himself.
“Our client has substantial evidence to support her claims. We advise you to let the Senate President handle his own defense and focus on preserving your peace of mind and that of your family.”
