Both the Senate and the House of Representatives embraced the report from their joint sittings on the 2023 Supplementary Appropriation Bill, as presented by Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola.
This additional budget allocation aims to cater to critical national needs, such as infrastructure, addressing labor demands, student loans, and other emergency areas.
President Tinubu had urged the National Assembly to approve the N2.17 trillion supplementary budget, emphasizing its importance in implementing essential palliative measures and wage adjustments.
The Federal Executive Council, under the President’s leadership, endorsed this supplementary budget, paving the way for the Senate’s subsequent discussion and approval.
Lawmakers stressed the urgency of expediting the passage of the supplementary budget, recognizing its significance in addressing critical national needs and facilitating vital areas like infrastructure, security, and labor demands.
