The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has released the official fares for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.

According to a statement by Fatimah Usara, NAHCON’s spokesperson, pilgrims from Borno and Adamawa states will pay ₦8,327,125.59, while those from the northern zone are expected to pay ₦8,457,685.59. Pilgrims from southern states will pay ₦8,784,085.59.

The fares were approved by the Office of Vice-President Kashim Shettima after extensive consultations. Usara stated that the decision was reached to ensure inclusivity and fairness in the process.

“This modest fare was achieved after extensive consultations to include all stakeholders in this important decision-making process,” she said.

She also credited Abdullahi Saleh, NAHCON chairman, and the leadership of the Forum of State Executive Secretaries (FSEC) for their efforts in preventing a significant increase in the hajj fares. Notable contributors included Idris Almakura, FSEC chairman; Abubakar Salihu, Adamawa executive secretary; Ameen Amshi, special assistant to the president on special duties; and Faruku Yaro, deputy FSEC chairman.

NAHCON’s chairman commended the collaborative effort of all stakeholders and described the 2025 hajj fare as “a product of extensive collaboration.” He urged intending pilgrims to make early payments, adhere to timelines, and follow Saudi Arabia’s guidelines to avoid inconveniences.

The 2025 fare marks a significant increase compared to previous years. In 2024, the fare started at ₦4.5 million before being raised to ₦4.9 million, with new registrants paying ₦8.5 million and existing depositors paying ₦6.8 million.
