Mohbad’s Death : Court Frees Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Others
A Lagos magistrate court in Sabo, Yaba, has acquitted musician Naira Marley, music promoter Sam Larry, Owodunni ‘Primeboy’ Ibrahim, and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde, of any involvement in the singer’s death.
In a ruling on Tuesday, Magistrate Ejiro Kubenji stated that they had no case to answer based on the legal advice from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP). However, the DPP will prosecute auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe and Mohbad’s friend, Ayobami Sadiq, for reckless and negligent acts under Lagos State law.
Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, after receiving an injection from Ogedengbe, whom police identified as the prime suspect. The Lagos State Police Commissioner revealed that the nurse administered multiple potent injections that triggered a fatal reaction.
