Mercy Aigbe Accuses Cinemas of Discouraging Fans from Watching Thin Line

Nigerian actress Mercy Aigbe has alleged that certain cinemas are discouraging fans from watching her new movie, Thin Line which premiered nationwide on December 13.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, Aigbe shared a screenshot of a fan’s complaint about challenges faced while trying to watch the movie. The fan described how two cinemas gave excuses that deterred them from purchasing tickets.
At one cinema, the fan was told the screen was faulty, while at another, they were informed that the air conditioning in the viewing hall was not functioning.
The fan wrote:
*”Good day Ma’am, so I went to watch *Thin Line* at Festival Mall yesterday afternoon. The ticket attendant ‘advised’ me not to, something about their screen being bad. Then I drove from Festival Mall to Maryland Mall. They also ‘advised’ me not to, saying the AC in that particular cinema was bad and that I should watch *The Waiter*. I went home angry and irritated. Please, if you can relate this information to the people that can do something about it. I just think it doesn’t make sense for two cinemas to have an ‘excuse’ and even advise people against seeing a particular movie.”*
Aigbe expressed her frustration in the post’s caption but also highlighted the positive feedback the movie has received.
*”Lori *Thin Line*, Baba gba ope wa, Baba gba iyin wa! Because my DM is full. As an investor, it’s not easy getting all these feedbacks. Trust me, it’s not! One thing that is my joy in all of these is the reviews from people who have seen *Thin Line*. These incessant complaints, whew! But regardless, we move.”*
Actor Jamiu Azeez corroborated the fan’s claims in the comments, sharing his experience at Maryland Mall.
*”I can testify to the Maryland Mall. When I went for the meet-and-greet, the AC in the hall for *Thin Line* was not working. The attendants were telling people before buying tickets that there was no AC in the hall, which discouraged a lot of people. I had to start begging people to please help us watch it like that, just to support this woman who has invested so much in this project,”* Azeez wrote.
Despite the challenges, Aigbe remains optimistic and continues to encourage her fans to see the film.
