Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United side struggled against Brighton, with the visitors taking an unexpected lead through former Man United youth player Danny Welbeck.
Pascal Gross and Joao Pedro added to the woes with second-half goals, although Hannibal Mejbri managed a consolation goal. Goalkeeper Andre Onana made crucial late saves to prevent further embarrassment for United, marking their first home loss in 13 months.
This defeat also marked their third consecutive loss of the season, resulting in their worst EPL season start in nine years.
