LP Senator Confronts Akpabio Amidst Minority Leadership Dispute

Tensions flared in the upper legislative chamber on Tuesday when Senate President Godswill Akpabio designated Abba Moro as minority leader and Osita Ngwu as minority whip, replacing Simon Mwadkwon and Darlington Nwokocha, who were ousted by the court.

An altercation ensued as LP’s Tony Nwoye, representing Anambra north, vociferously objected, accusing the senate president of unjustly dictating leaders.

Akpabio defended the appointments, stating that the chosen leaders had the support of senators, urging minority parties to address internal issues.

The exchange highlighted the discord surrounding the minority leadership tussle in the Senate.
