Portable has released a song titled ‘Alimi,’ which appears to be a tribute to the late Mohbad, who passed away on September 12 and was buried the following day.
The circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death have sparked controversy on social media.
In the song ‘Alimi,’ Portable takes a direct jab at Sam Larry, a music promoter who is a suspect in Mohbad’s death. Portable also imparts advice to fellow artists, urging them to tread carefully in life.
He sings, “Wọn ní gbé wa sìn/ Owo lama ri mọ́lẹ̀. Ẹ lè p’ogo bẹ ṣe pá Imole/ Ẹ má lè paná ògo/ Alimi Alimi/ Life is full of Sam Larry/ Let your things be Portable/ Don’t be so bad so that you can see tomorrow/ In case you want to ja pa like Marley/ Ọkàn gbogbo yín òní balẹ/ No peace for the wicked/ No sleep for the wicked.”
