LG Polls : Kwara PDP pegs Chairmanship form at N100,000, Councilorship at 25,000

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, has begun the sale of Nomination and Expression of Interest forms for the forthcoming Local Government elections scheduled for September 21st 2024.

Olusegun Olusola Adewara, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, disclosed this in a statement released on Saturday.

The statement reads in full;

“Kwara Council Election: PDP Fixes Fees for Aspirants’ Nomination Forms*

Announces dates for Primaries

The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is pleased to announce the commencement of the sales of Nomination and Expression of Interest forms for the forthcoming Local Government elections scheduled for September 21st 2024.

All intending aspirants are hereby notified that these forms are now available at the State Secretary’s office. The prices for the forms are as follows:

CHAIRMANSHIP

– Expression of Interest Form: N20,000

– Nomination Form: N80,000

    Total                          N100,000    

COUNCILLORSHIP:

– Expression of Interest Form: N5,000

– Nomination Form: N20,000

       Total                    N25,000

Interested aspirants can now pay into the party’s bank account below and present the tellers as evidence of payment:

The sales of forms for those interested in Chairmanship and Councillorship seats will commence today, 22nd June 2024, and will close on 25th June 2024. By implication, all forms collected by aspirants must be filled and returned to the state office no later than Tuesday, 25th June 2024.

Additionally, FEMALE and the PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED ASPIRANTS are to pay 50% of the above rates for the nominations and the expressions of interest forms. This measure aims to encourage gender inclusions and deepen the inclusion of various strata of our society in the PDP’s programme for these elections.

In the same vein, the party has also approved Wednesday, 26th June, 2024 for Councillorship primary elections and Thursday, 27th June, 2024 for Chairmanship primary elections, respectively.
