Lagos Gets COVID-19 vaccines | Shopenonline

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has confirmed that doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines have arrived in the state.

Sanwo-Olu made this disclosure while Speaking on Tuesday at the 2021 International Women’s Day celebration organised by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

The doses are part of the about 4 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine shipped via the COVAX Facility, a partnership between CEPI, Gavi, UNICEF and WHO, into Nigeria on March.

According to the governor, the state government received the vaccines at 4 a.m. on Tuesday (today).

He assured residents that the vaccines were kept in a safe place.

Sanwo-Olu urged Lagosians to continue to observe COVID-19 protocols, including wearing of facemasks, washing of hands and observing social distancing.
