The Kwara State Primary Health Development Agency (KWPHCDA) has urged parents to ensure their children receive the measles vaccination.
Dr. Nusirat Elelu, the Executive Secretary of the Agency, delivered this message during a stakeholders meeting in Ilorin on Thursday.
The purpose of the meeting was to raise awareness among key stakeholders about the virus.
Dr. Elelu disclosed that the vaccination program is scheduled to run from October 26, 2023, to November 1, 2023. Children aged between 9 months and 59 months are eligible for this vaccine.
She also encouraged parents and caregivers to disregard any unfounded rumors about the vaccination, emphasizing that it serves as a preventive measure against measles.
Furthermore, Dr. Elelu called upon the people of the state to stand in solidarity with the agency in its efforts to combat measles.
