KWASU gets NUC’s accreditation for 18 courses
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to 18 undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Kwara State University, Malete (KWASU) during the October/November 2023 accreditation of academic programs.
In a letter dated June 6, 2024, addressed to the university’s vice-chancellor, Prof. Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, and signed by NUC’s acting director of accreditation, Engr Abraham Chundusu, six postgraduate and 12 undergraduate programs were listed as fully accredited for the next five years.
The accredited undergraduate programs are Public Health, Film Studies and Production, Agricultural Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Fine and Applied Arts, Chemistry, Plant and Environmental Biology, Political Science, and Tourism and Hospitality Management.
The accredited postgraduate programs include MSc. Accounting, MSc. Business Administration, MBA, MSc. Finance, MSc. Public Administration, and MPA.
Reacting to the accreditation, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh highlighted the result as a testament to the dedication of the university’s management and staff. He praised the staff for their hard work and urged them to continue striving for excellence in training future professionals.
Prof. Jimoh also expressed gratitude to the Kwara State Government and the Ministry of Tertiary Education for their support during the accreditation process.
