Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has reportedly inspired an emergency meeting of traditional rulers and other stakeholders in Kwara South to design strategies that would stamp out the security breaches in parts of the region.

This medium understands that the Governor has been in marathon conversations with the monarchs and other leaders in the area on how to curb further breaches.

“I think it is in line with this position that traditional rulers from communities in Kwara South are currently holding a meeting in Oro over some ongoing security issues in the region,” according to a source who is close to the development but is not authorised to speak on the topic.

Several first class royal fathers including Olofa of Offa, Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, and Oloro of Oro, among others, are present at the meeting.

The meeting was called as a part of the ongoing efforts of the authorities to design urgent response to strengthen the security of lives and property in the district.

Representatives of some of the security agencies are also attending the meeting which they said will properly analyse the situation and submit a position paper for government to consider for implementation.

“The traditional rulers would come up with resolutions and recommendations at the end of the meeting which would form a broad-based security strategy to be implemented by the government in collaboration with the security agents.”
