Kwara Productive Circle begins Businesses Mentorship Program in Offa LG

A non governmental organization (NGO), Kwara Productive Circle on Tuesday, commenced Leadership and Businesses Mentorship Program for students in Offa Local Government area of the State.

Kwara Productive Circle is a group of young business owners who come together to enlighten and inspire teenagers in secondary school on how to become an Entrepreneur at their early age.

The seminar themed: “The teens Business summer – series 1” took place at Offa Grammar School in Offa town.

Speaking with our correspondent shortly after the program, Abdulmajeed Abdulfatahi, a co-convener of the group, explained that the motive is to enlightened senior secondary school students about entrepreneur, adding that, “to see young people starting business of their own right from now, not until they graduated instead of seeking for a white-collar job.”

“Our aims is to see young people starting business of their own, benefiting from Government’s intervention program that is assisting young people to start their own business and at the end, we want to see them feeding themselves and their parents with legitimate money made from their business.

“This mentorship program will not open their minds to cyber crime, yahoo yahoo and other social vices in the society.”

Abdulmajeed said, KPC is a Political free group that comprises of a young business from different political background who are ready to use their story to inspire younger ones in secondary school.

He disclosed that the The teens Business summer – series 1 will hold in the three senatorial districtsp in Kwara state, having started with Offa LG, one of th biggest city in Kwara South. Other district to covered are Tsaragi in Edu LG, Kwara North senatorial district and the tour will be concluded in Ilorin – Kwara central senatorial district.

Speaking further, Abdulmajeed said, “20 of the students were selected and our intention is to pay their school fees when school resumes. Also, we collected names of those who showed interest in learning entrepreneur skills which we will ensure that they undergo training from professionals who are into business of their choice.”

He therefore advised that students to utilize the opportunity of the mentorship class and come up with what they can do as they attend academic class “so that they can start from now and it will be part of them as they are growing.”

In his remarks, Mr. Akorede Abdullahi Olarewaju, principal of the summer school 2023 program, described the initiative as a good one which will contribute to the decrease of unemployment rate in the country. This he said will expose the students to enterprenurship world, earn them income to have a good standard of living in the nearest future.
