Kwara Poly’s NAMCOS holds Grand Finale of Writing Contest, Launches Bulletin

The National Association of Mass Communication Students (NAMCOS) Kwara Polythechnic Chapter under the leadership of Senator Ayoola Kehinde Abdulrafiu (Kenkid) holds the Grand Finale of her Writing Contest and also Launched the First ever Bulletin for the Association.

The landmark Event which was held Earlier today at Old ETF, Kwara Polythechnic, Ilorin brought together Students, Student Union leaders, Lecturers and Other Well meaning Kwarans.

Speaking during the Event, The National President of NAMCOS, Sen. Ayoola Kehinde Abdulrafiu (Kenkid) Expressed his Profound Appreciation To Almighty God for making the Program a reality, He also Appreciate the Special Guest of Honor; commissioner for Youth and Sport,Kwara State, Hon Joana Nnazua Kolo,Chief Launcher; Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Kwara State ably represented by Director CCE, Chairman of the day, Rector Kwara State Polytechnic ably represented by the Deputy Rector (Admin), Dr Mrs Habeebat Adam, Director IICT, HOD Mass Communication Kwara State Polytechnic, Mr Yisa Idris, Masscom Staff Adviser, Mr Fatiu Tope Olohungbebe, Students Leaders, Mass Communication Stakeholders and others for their Efforts in making this Program a Success.

He Explained that The Writing Contest was organized in order to promote Kwara Polythechnic students Writing Culture, and also to reward their creativities and to have their perception about the 60th existence of Nigeria.

“This is a landmark event in the history of Kwara State Mass Communication Department and I believe this is the beginning of new development under my Leadership” Kenkid Added.

The Guest Lecturer of the event, Dr Lambe Kayode Mustapha delivered a Powerful Lecture on the Topic “DEGRADATION OF PRESS FREEDOM: A threat to Nigeria’s Democratic Future”

He then Appreciate the Association for inviting him to speak at the event, Implored other students Association to Emulate NAMCOS in developing Students Capacity.

The top three Students out of the 87 entries recieved were awarded and also given a Cash Prizes to Crown their Efforts.
