The Offa General Hospital in Kwara State has received a boost in its capabilities as the state government has provided it with modern laboratory equipment.

These new machines, which include a Hematology Analyzer, Hormonal Profile Analyzer, and Electrolyte Analyzer, were brought to the hospital by the Kwara State Hospital Management Board (KW-HMB).

The aim of this enhancement is to enhance the quality of healthcare services provided at the facility. In addition to delivering the equipment, the hospital management board also conducted training for the healthcare workers responsible for operating these machines during their visit.

Dr. Abdulraheem Malik, the Executive Secretary of KW-HMB, highlighted the significance of this development. He mentioned that patients from Offa would no longer need to make the journey to Ilorin for the aforementioned medical tests.

Furthermore, Dr. Malik expressed the commitment of the state to continuously support and staff the General Hospital in Offa until it meets the healthcare demands of the community and its surrounding areas.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has granted approval to promptly replace any doctors, pharmacists, and nurses who leave the state’s services.

Dr. Malik also revealed plans to assign more doctors and nurses to the Offa General Hospital. As part of this initiative, the hospital will soon receive four additional doctors, making a total of ten doctors, along with fifty more nurses to supplement the current nursing staff of thirty-five.

The KW-HMB is also addressing workforce shortages in other healthcare departments to ensure comprehensive and effective healthcare delivery.
