Kwara Flags-off NIPDs vaccination to Combat Polio in Children

The Kwara State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (KWSPHCDA) has launched its November National Immunization Plus Day (NIPDs) to prevent the spread of the polio virus among kids aged 0-5.

Dr. Nusirat Elelu, the Executive Secretary of KWSPHCDA, emphasized the government’s dedication to providing quality healthcare for the people of Kwara during the flag-off event held at the Emir’s palace in Ilorin.

The vaccination campaign will take place from November 11 to 15, 2023, as revealed by Dr. Elelu.

The decision to commence the vaccination at the palace is to acknowledge the traditional institution’s role in the fight against polio, as explained by the KWSPHCDA’s head.

Lastly, she urged parents and caregivers to ensure their children receive the vaccine, assuring its safety.
