Kwara Creates Two New Ministries for Agriculture, Transport Sectors

The Kwara State Executive Council has approved the creation of two new ministries to enhance efficiency and align governance with developmental priorities.
At a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, presided over by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the council approved splitting the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to establish the Ministry of Livestock Development, aimed at strengthening food security and livestock farming.
Similarly, the Ministry of Transportation was carved out from the Ministry of Works and Transport to improve transportation management.
The restructuring also places the Kwara State Road Traffic Management Agency (KWARTMA) under the new Ministry of Transportation. With these changes, Kwara now has 22 ministries, up from 20.
