Kwara COREN Seals road construction in Ilorin over non-adherence to engineering standard
The Kwara State Technical Committee (STC) Of Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) led by its Chairman, Engr. Bashir Lawal on Saturday sealed a road construction at 9 Catchment Close, GRA, Ilorin for non-compliance with acceptable engineering standard.
The project was sealed when the COREN team visited the the project site this morning.
Speaking with our correspondent during the visit, The Chairman, Kwara State Technical Committee, COREN, Engr. Bashir Lawal expressed dissatisfaction with the unprofessional state of the project.
He said that the construction was sealed over non-adherence to engineer standards, noting that the construction is been handled by quack.
“We have to stop this job and we want the general public to know that the job they are doing here is not in up to specifications, however they don’t even have a drawing, they don’t have sign post and we don’t meet any engineer on this project all what we met are just the supervisors and the workforce.”
Conclusively, Engr Lawal warned the project contractor not to go further until they are Able to provide all the details of the project and get a qualified engineer for the job.
