Kwara Central Senator Uplifts Constituents with Life-Changing Poultry Farming Empowerment

The lawmaker representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, Senator Saliu Mustapha, has empowered 200 people in his constituency with essential tools, 200 day-old chicks and feed each to kick-start their poultry businesses.
The event, which took place at Senator Mustapha’s Constituency Office in Ilorin, brought together beneficiaries selected from across the four local government areas of Kwara Central Senatorial District.
Speaking at the event, Senator Saliu Mustapha, represented by his legislative aide, Tunde Abdulkadir, said the beneficiaries had earlier undergone extensive training in modern poultry farming techniques before receiving the tools and chicks.
He noted that the programme is part of his broader efforts to tackle unemployment, enhance food security, and stimulate small-scale agribusinesses within his constituency.
The Senator added that the initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, which seeks to revitalize the agricultural sector and promote self-reliance among citizens.
Senator Mustapha reaffirmed his commitment to empowering more of his constituents through continuous and targeted interventions, noting that agriculture remains a key driver of economic growth and youth employment.
He advised the beneficiaries to take the opportunity seriously by applying the skills they had acquired during the training to build sustainable businesses.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke at the event expressed profound gratitude to Senator Mustapha for what they described as a timely and life-changing opportunity. They pledged to maximize the support to build sustainable poultry businesses.
This poultry empowerment programme adds to the growing list of people-focused initiatives spearheaded by Senator Mustapha to promote inclusive growth and grassroots development in his constituency.
