Kwara State government has flagged off the second phase of the administration of AztraZeneca and Moderna vaccine on the people of the state.
The flag-off ceremony, which took place earlier today at the Kwara State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Fate, Ilorin was performed on behalf of Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Raji Razaq, who conveyed the governor’s message, urging the people of Kwara State to disregard rumours and misinformation making the rounds about the vaccine.
In her address, the Executive Secretary, Kwara State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (KWSPHCDA), Dr. Nusirat Elelu revealed that the state government achieved 100 per cent coverage in the first phase of the AstraZeneca vaccination.
Elelu disclosed that the state government has train health workers, who would ensure effective coverage of the second phase of the vaccination in all the designated Primary Health Centres (PHCs) across the 16 local government areas of the state.
The KWSPHCDA boss, added that the agency has created a team that will visit communities who are far to Facilities in order ensure that every citizen is vaccinated.
