Kogi Election: APC will win with wide margin, Yahaya Bello Boasts

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has reiterated his confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s victory in the upcoming gubernatorial election, citing the party’s accomplishments under his administration as a driving force for this belief.

He emphasized the state government’s dedication to collaborating with the Armed Forces to ensure a peaceful and fair election for all candidates.

During a meeting with the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Mustapha, Governor Bello, represented by his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja, pledged to abide by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directives to secure a violence-free election, highlighting the administration’s strong focus on security since assuming office.

Expressing optimism that the state’s achievements, especially in the security sector, would motivate high voter turnout, Governor Bello assured the public of an overwhelming victory.

He vowed to work alongside the Armed Forces to facilitate a peaceful electoral process and enable a large voter turnout.

Emphasizing Kogi’s peaceful nature under their administration, the Governor assured President Tinubu of stability throughout the election period.

He lauded the efforts of the Chief of Defence Staff in reducing crime in the North West and South East under the current administration.

Gen. Christopher Mustapha, in response, assured that the Armed Forces would ensure a secure and credible election in Kogi State, urging citizens to actively participate in the democratic process.

He also cautioned against unprofessional behavior by military personnel, encouraging the public to report any misconduct.

The State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), highlighted the administration’s ongoing focus on security, acknowledging the cooperation between the state and security agencies and expressing continued support for their efforts.
