Senator Ademola Adeleke, the head of the National Campaign Council for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the Kogi governorship election, has expressed confidence in the party’s success in the upcoming November 11 election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) previously scheduled the governorship elections for Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi States on November 11, 2023.

The PDP’s gubernatorial candidate in the state is Senator Dino Melaye.

Adeleke called for the unity of all party members to support the party’s candidate in the November 11 governorship election, while highlighting his track record of defeating incumbents in the past.

“Never doubt our ability to triumph over incumbents. I have successfully overcome incumbent challenges multiple times. With focus and unwavering faith, we can achieve anything.”

Addressing party members at the National Party Secretariat in Abuja, he emphasized the need for collective effort to ensure Dino Melaye’s victory as the next governor of Kogi State in the upcoming election.

“We are on the path to victory in the forthcoming Kogi State governorship election. This gathering marks another step toward our journey to the Lord Lugard House in Lokoja. A few weeks ago, our national leadership inaugurated the campaign council at this venue.

“Today, we are launching the sub-committees to take mobilization and related tasks to a deeper level. I urge all state committee members to dedicate themselves to the core objective of this assignment.

“Our mission is to secure the election of Senator Dino Melaye as the governor of Kogi State. So shall it be, and so it is ordained. As sub-committee members, we must contribute our specific mandates to secure this victory, as it’s a matter of great significance.

“If you’re not prepared to make sacrifices for our journey to the Promised Land, no one is obliging you to be here. However, if you’re committed to working together to uplift Kogi and propel it toward that Promised Land, I bring you a successful blueprint from Osun State. I share with you the templates of hard work and triumph. Through this, I’m endorsing all present members to join our collective effort to attain victory in Kogi.

“Never doubt our potential to triumph over incumbents. With unwavering faith and focus, we can overcome any challenge.

“First and foremost, you must believe in our cause. Without belief, you have no place here. Dino and I share common traits. I hail from the West in Osun State, while Dino represents Kogi West. Just as the West had its chance in Osun, it’s now the West’s turn in Kogi.

“For a successful election, peace is paramount. We are in dialogue to ensure a peaceful process, and this has been accepted. Democracy guides us. I have already engaged with Governor Yahaya Bello, informing him of our intention to campaign in his state. Let the best candidate emerge victoriously. No room for conflict, and he has consented. Our goal is to conduct a harmonious election.”

Dino Melaye, in his statement, appealed for support from all Kogi residents and party members across the three Senatorial Districts and nine Federal Constituencies to achieve victory in the November 11 election.
