Kano Hisbah Commander, Sheikh Daurawa Resigns
He announced his resignation in a brief video shared on his official Facebook page on Friday.

The Commander General of Kano Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, has stepped down from his position.
He announced his resignation in a brief video shared on his official Facebook page on Friday.
Daurawa’s decision to resign came shortly after Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf criticized the approach used by Hisbah in combating immoral activities in the state.
During a meeting with religious scholars at the Government House, Governor Yusuf expressed disapproval of the practice of raiding public places to apprehend prostitutes, deeming it uncivilized.
He also raised concerns about the methods employed by Hisbah in apprehending suspects, urging the board to reassess its operations to address societal issues.
Responding to Governor Yusuf’s remarks, Daurawa stated that under his leadership, Hisbah had undertaken various initiatives to combat immorality, particularly by targeting social media influencers.
While Daurawa believed that Hisbah’s actions were in line with Islamic principles, he announced his resignation and extended well wishes to the governor and his administration.
