Kaduna APC suspends women leader for criticising Uba Sani over ‘inherited debt’ remark

The Kaduna chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended Maryam Suleiman, its women leader, for publicly criticizing Governor Uba Sani.
Suleiman’s suspension, announced in a letter dated March 31 and signed by APC officials Ali Maishago and Zakkah Bassahuwa, cited “gross misconduct” and alleged defamation of the governor’s character.
Governor Sani had recently stated at a town hall meeting that he inherited significant debt from his predecessor, Nasir el-Rufai, leading to financial challenges in the state.
In response, Suleiman, a supporter of el-Rufai, voiced her disagreement in a video, prompting the APC ward executive to suspend her pending further investigation.
