Jose Mourinho Hopes for Manchester United Return

Jose Mourinho is keen to return to Manchester United as manager, but the club isn’t interested in reappointing the Portuguese coach, reports the Manchester Evening News.
According to sources, the 61-year-old Mourinho has expressed his eagerness to manage Manchester United again, stating he would “walk” to Manchester to get the chance. However, the club dismissed him in December 2018.
Mourinho, who recently lost his job as Roma’s coach after a two-and-a-half-year stint, is known to have a close relationship with Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Despite this, there are no expectations for him to receive an offer from his former club.
Mourinho’s interest in the Manchester United position resurfaces after the team faced a 4-0 defeat against Crystal Palace on Monday, leaving Erik ten Hag’s team in eighth place in the Premier League standings.
Mourinho was Manchester United’s manager from May 2016 to December 2018, securing the Europa League and the League Cup during his tenure. Since leaving Manchester United, Mourinho has coached Tottenham and Roma, where he led the team to a Europa Conference League title in 2022.
