Jonathan Urges Tinubu to Establish Department for Presidential Libraries

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has called on President Bola Tinubu to create a department to manage presidential libraries in Nigeria.
Speaking in Abuja at the launch of A Journey in Service, a book by former Head of State Ibrahim Babangida, Jonathan emphasized the importance of documenting presidential history. He noted that in the U.S., presidential libraries are treated as national assets and supported by the government.
Jonathan praised Babangida for his contributions to Nigeria’s history and leadership, stating that no account of the country’s past would be complete without mentioning him. He also urged other former presidents to establish libraries to preserve Nigeria’s historical records.
