Jonathan, Buhari visit Aso Rock for council of state meeting
President Bola Tinubu has presided over his first Council of State meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The meeting commenced at 12:35 PM, marking a significant moment as former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari were present in person, while former Heads of State Yakubu Gowon and Abdulsalami Abubakar participated virtually.
The Council of State, an advisory body to the executive on key policy decisions, last convened on February 10, 2023, under Buhari’s administration.
That meeting focused on the upcoming 2023 elections, the challenges stemming from the new naira redesign policy, and fuel scarcity.
