Jandor, also known as Abdulazeez Adediran, the gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, has lodged an appeal contesting the re-election of Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the state’s governor.

This comes after the tribunal, on September 25, dismissed Adediran’s petition on the grounds of lacking merit.

Expressing his dissatisfaction with the tribunal’s decision, Adediran claimed that the tribunal had failed to acknowledge the credible and compelling evidence presented by his legal team, particularly regarding the eligibility of candidates from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Labour Party (LP) in the election.

He argued that the tribunal’s ruling did not align with constitutional provisions and pledged that the Lagos PDP would evaluate the judgment before deciding on their next course of action.

In his appeal, Adeniran has put forth 35 grounds and is seeking to overturn the tribunal’s judgment.

He asserts that the tribunal made legal errors and reached an incorrect conclusion in dismissing his petition.

He emphasized his commitment to bringing a fresh approach to governance in Lagos by upholding constitutional and electoral laws concerning the election of a genuinely qualified governor.
