I’ve left PDP, I’m close to joining APC – Ex-Atiku’s spokesperson

Daniel Bwala, former spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar’s 2023 election campaign, has announced his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Thursday, Bwala revealed he is “very close” to joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I am not a member of the PDP. Yes, I have left the PDP,” he confirmed. “I am very close [to joining APC].”
Bwala, who was the spokesperson for the PDP presidential campaign during the 2023 election, was a prominent critic of President Bola Tinubu during the campaign. However, he changed his stance after Tinubu assumed the presidency in mid-2023.
In early January, Bwala visited Tinubu at the State House in Abuja. Less than a month later, he met with the president again in France.
During one of these visits, Bwala praised Tinubu’s commitment to “lead Nigeria out of the woods” and expressed his own commitment to supporting Tinubu’s administration.
He added that if supporting Tinubu requires joining the APC, “so be it.”
