INEC accredits 51 observers for Feb FCT council poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission has accredited 51 observer groups for the FCT Area Council elections scheduled for Saturday, February 12, 2022.

The commission disclosed this in a bulletin issued on Wednesday night.

Those accredited comprised 50 domestic organisations and one international organisation, which is International Foundation for Electoral Systems.

INEC urged approved organisations to fill and complete necessary documentation online ( between December 29 2021 and January 13 2022.

The commission also stressed the need for observers to fully comply with the INEC COVID-19 Policy on Election and Accreditation of observers, including the signing of the indemnity form and provision of Personal Protective Equipment for all field observers.

The commission warned that failure to comply will lead to the immediate withdrawal of accreditation.

“The distribution of domestic observer kits (including ID cards to individual observers) will be done in FCT- ABUJA INEC office between 3rd and February 11 2022,” INEC said.
