Imo State Court Restrains Labor Strikes, Warns of Consequences
This injunction, issued by Justice N C S Ogbuanya last Friday, warns of consequences for disregarding the court’s directive and seeks to prevent any escalation of disputes that might negatively impact the populace.
The National Industrial Court in Owerri has freshly mandated an interim order to prohibit organized labor from engaging in any form of strike within Imo State.
This injunction, issued by Justice N C S Ogbuanya last Friday, warns of consequences for disregarding the court’s directive and seeks to prevent any escalation of disputes that might negatively impact the populace.
The involved parties have been directed to maintain peace until the next hearing scheduled for November 30, 2023. This order renders the ongoing strike, notably by a segment of labor, particularly EEDC, as unlawful.
The court has set the date for ruling on the interlocutory injunction filed by the claimants for November 30, 2023.
