‘Ilorin is Better’, Kwara South Group kicks against Relocation of Smart City to Ifelodun LG
In a recent development, the Youth for Good Governance in Kwara South Senatorial District has voiced their opposition to the proposed relocation of the Smart City project from Ilorin, the capital city of Kwara State, to Ganmo/Amoyo in Ifelodun Local Government Area.
In a press statement made available to newsmen, Ayenigba Lanre, a spokesperson for the group, emphasized the significance of Ilorin as the ideal location for the Smart City initiative.
He commended Governor AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq for his visionary leadership in conceptualizing the Smart City project for Ilorin South LGA.
Lanre lauded the well-planned and timely nature of the proposed location in Ilorin, emphasizing its suitability for the implementation of the Smart City concept. He asserted that the decision to relocate the project to Ganmo/Amoyo in Ifelodun LGA was unfounded and lacked merit.
Responding to calls for relocation, Lanre dismissed such suggestions as mere jokes that hold no validity. He reiterated the group’s unwavering support for the original plan to establish the Smart City in Ilorin, citing its strategic importance and potential for driving economic growth and development in the region.
