I’ll take all actions needed to keep our party stable – PDP Acting Chair

Umar Damagum, the acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has pledged to take all necessary steps to foster peace and unity within the party.
Addressing members at the PDP headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, Damagum highlighted the party’s resilience as its greatest strength amidst ongoing challenges.
“Despite internal conflicts, the PDP endures, reflecting the strength and dedication of our members,” he stated.
Damagum emphasized his commitment to maintaining the party’s stability and vowed to take decisive actions to ensure its continued cohesion.
“Our governors have shown outstanding leadership, implementing projects and services that have positively impacted Nigerians, underscoring the PDP’s dedication to good governance and progress,” he added.
He affirmed that the PDP remains the most dynamic party in the nation despite its internal issues.
“To truly serve the Nigerian people, the PDP must embrace forgiveness, unity, and a shared purpose,” Damagum noted.
He urged the reconciliation and disciplinary committees to revitalize the party and counter any negativity.
Damagum dismissed claims of anti-party activities against him, asserting that such allegations would not deter him from fulfilling his duties.
“For those seeking my removal, understand that undermining me also harms the party,” he said. “Attempting to bring me down only serves to weaken the PDP.”
He urged members to remain positive and supportive of the party, emphasizing that recent successful congresses mark a new chapter. Damagum promised to persist in his efforts for the PDP’s success, undaunted by unfounded accusations.
