The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) has raised an alarm over the deteriorating Security situations within the five (5) local government areas of Ilorin Emirate Community and the State at large.
A statement jointly signed by the National President of IEYDA, Alh. Abdullahi Babatunde Salaudeen and the National Publicity of the association, Alh. Mohammed Uthman Jagunma on Friday 16th October, 2020 expressed worry and sadness over the deteriorating security situations within the Ilorin Emirate Community and Kwara State at large.
The IEYDA stated that the peace and harmony the Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State is known for all over the world is deteriorating very fast, as kidnappers and hoodlums have found their ways to the Emirate Community and the State.
It lamented the sad occurrences of recent kidnappings within the Emirate and the State at large.
IEYDA expressed concerns over the fact that the good people of the State that are struggling to get three square meals for their family can no longer walk freely and sleep with their two eyes closed owing to fear of being robbed or kidnapped. It added that this is against the norms of what Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State is known for.
The IEYDA called on His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Alh. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and his cabinet members, the Speaker of Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakub Salihu Danladi and the entire Honourable Members of Kwara State House of Assembly, His Royal Highness the Emir of Ilorin Alh. (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulugambari CFR and all traditional rulers in the State, the Commissioner of Police, the State Director of Department of State Security Service (DSS), the State Commander of NSCDC and other Security Chiefs in the State to as a matter of urgency address the security challengees in the Ilorin Emirate Community and the State at large by flushing out hoodlums and kidnappers.
It also called on the community and traditional Security outfit, the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) and community policing to double its efforts in cooperation with the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) and other Security Agencies in flushing out hoodlums and kidnappers from the Emirate Community and Kwara at large.
The IEYDA stressed that there can be no peace or harmony in any Community or State in the presence of deteriorating security situations, and called on all stakeholders to as a matter of urgency wake up and restore the peace and security of the Emirate and State at large, while praying to Almighty Allah to guide aright the decision and efforts of all stakeholders.
