IEYDA empowers Widows, SMEs, Less privileged in Kwara

It was indeed a thing of joy for the people for the people of Ilorin Emirate as the leading social cultural group in the Emirate, The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association empowered widows, SMEs and less privileged.

Beneficiaries of the empowerment Programme received their cash during the association’s annual Lailatul Qadri held yesterday in Ilorin, the state capital.

According to the information obtained by Sho pen online, The Beneficiaries collected N50,000, N40,000, N30,000, N25,000, N20,000 and N10,000 respectively.

At the event, Ilorin Islamic scholar, Sheik Abdulmumeen Ayara who delivered sermon commended the association for their efforts in alleviating poverty in the state, urged them not to relent in their benevolent gestures.

On his part, The Association National President, Alh Babatunde Salaudeen explained that the objectives of the association was to ensure that each of the beneficiaries and their dependants have a stable source of income that would enable them afford at least three square meals daily and sustain their family upkeep.

He further disclosed that the programme were selected from the five local governments that comprise Ilorin Emirate, based on the needs of their vocations and trade.

Babatunde however appreciated individuals who have been supporting the association, reiterated that the association will not relent in contributing its quota to development of Ilorin emirate and kwara state at large.

The event that lasted for couple of hours attracted top government functionaries, Ilorin Royal Title holders and notable dignitaries in the state who are numerous to mention.
