IEYDA Empowers Kwara Residents with over N2m

The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association has empowered over one hundred and twenty people as part of the sixth annual Lailatul Qadir and Empowerment Programme held at IEYDA National Secretariat, Aishat Adepate House, Edun street, Ilorin, the kwara state capital.

In his lecture, An Islamic scholar, As-Shaykh Abubakar Issa-Olayinka popularly known as Baba Authentic called on Muslims youth to participate on community development in their various communities.

As-Shaykh Issa-Olayinka, who is the Guest Speaker at the event commended the Ilorin Emirate Youth for putting smile in the faces of less privilege and charged them to sustain the tempo.

In a remark, the National President of the Association, Alhaji Abdullahi Babatunde Salaudeen said IEYDA had impacted positively in the life of the people through the support of sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate.

Alhaji Salaudeen said over two million naira was donated by a philanthropist to empower petty traders at this year programme and thanked him for the gesture and those who were contributed to the success of the programme.

Also speaking, the National Publicity Secretary of the Association, Alhaji Uthman Jagunma implored the beneficiaries to use the fund judiciously and appealed to sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate to continue their support on Association’s programmes to reduce the poverty level in the society.

The programme was attended by the eminent personalities including the representative of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the representative of the wife of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Dr Mrs Fatimoh Gambari represented by Alhaja Toyin Dare, the National President IEDPU, Alh Uthman Aliyu Otta, Alhaja Fatimoh Abolore, Alh Madibbo Sulu-Gambari, Alh Muritala Raheem and resentative of Alh Idris Amasa represented by Alh Jimoh Tokunbo.

Others are representative of Council of Ulamhu led by Imam Gambari, Sheikh Salihu Imam, Ajanasi Agba of Ilorin, Dr Mujitabal Bature and representative of Ilorin Emirate Alanguwa and Magaji Forum led by the Vice president, Alh Amosa Ojulari Magaji Esinrogunjo, the Secretary, Alangua Owode, Alhaji Umar Sidiq Kayode, Engr Kameel Dauda, the immediate past president of the Ilorin Emirate Anchor men and women, Alh Bayo Olufadi, all the Executives and members of the Development Associations across Ilorin Emirate under the umbrella of IEYDA.

Highlights of the programme is the presentation of cash with range of forty thousand naira, thirty thousand naira, twenty thousand naira and ten thousand naira among Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs, Widows, Aged and the less-privilege.
