Our national honour awardees are worthy of being identified with through this forum. If Ilorin cannot blow its trumpets that three of its sons were elevated to the rank of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN), then something is wrong. This is why we are celebrating the elevation of Prof. M.T.AbdulRazaq; the Ciroma Ngari, Alhaji Abubakar Bature Sulu-Gambari; and Alhaji Mumini Ishola Hanafi into the prestigious rank. We are also rejoicing with Alhaji Abdulkadir Tunji Nagode, the Executive Director, Finance, Nigerian National Petroleum Company, PLC; Mallam Lukman Olayiwola Mustapha, Executive Director, Loan and Mortgage, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria; and Dr Muhammad Lawal Attanda, Executive Director/ Chief Executive Officer, National Horticultural Research Institute of Nigeria, Ibadan, on their appointments as well as Prof. Baba Awoye Issa and Alhaji Kassim Kayode Babamale on their appointments as the pioneer Chief Executive of the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Budo-Egba and pioneer Registrar, Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun, respectively.”

“Our community needs a tribe of mentors to open the eyes of the youth of today to ‘see’ what they require to make a difference in the society and the country at large. Allah has made you Titans in your own areas of specialisation. I plead with you to do more from now – make more titans out of the teeming number of our young ones. Properly mentored, the youth are easy to control but difficult to manipulate. Kindness, like a boomerang, returns in the course of time,” The president concluded.
Meanwhile the honorees in their separate responses, appreciated IEDPU for the honor bestowed on them, describing it as a motivation to retain their immense contributions towards the development of Ilorin Emirate.
