The popular Afrobeats artist whose real name is David Adeleke. He has officially confirmed the birth of a set of twins with his wife, Chioma.
A video showing Chioma with their newborn twins, a boy and a girl, fresh from a United States hospital, had previously gone viral.
Making his first public statement about this joyous event at the United Masters Select Con event on a Saturday, Davido shared that he and his wife were overcome with emotion when they learned they were expecting twins.
He acknowledged the challenging times they had faced, including the heartbreaking loss of their son, Ifeanyi. Nevertheless, he emphasized the importance of holding onto faith.
“I was at the point of giving up. I thought I was never going to be able to sing ever again. I told God I’m not doing this anymore. After that, I have had my most successful year. I have had my biggest album. Just three days ago, my wife delivered twins. A beautiful boy and girl came back in double. We kept the faith despite it being hard. When my wife and I found out, we were shaking, and it was in the same month my son passed. My son passed away last year in October, and my wife gave birth this year in October,” he shared.
