Former Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, revealed that his sole financial support from the government is a monthly pension of N577,000 as a former governor of Lagos State.

He clarified that contrary to speculation, he does not receive billions from the federal government after his eight-year tenure as a minister.

Fashola shared this during an interview on Arise TV’s “Perspectives” and emphasized his commitment to truthfulness.

When asked about advice for current public office holders, he urged them to remain authentic in their duties, asserting that he’s not in a position to offer direct advice.

In September 2023, Fashola stated he didn’t require an official title to serve, emphasizing the president’s ability to appoint ministers.
