Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has been sidelined “for the time being” due to a hamstring tear, the club confirmed on Sunday.

The injury forced the England captain off the pitch after just 33 minutes during Bayern’s 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. The 31-year-old is now set to miss Bayern’s German Cup Round of 16 clash against holders Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday.

In a statement, Bayern revealed Kane suffered “a small muscle tear in the back of his right thigh.” While the club did not provide a specific timeline for his recovery, German publication *Bild* reported that Kane could be out for two weeks.

This means Kane may miss a crucial stretch of fixtures, including matches against Heidenheim, Shakhtar Donetsk, Mainz, and RB Leipzig, before Bayern wraps up their 2024 campaign.

Since joining Bayern in the summer of 2023, Kane has been remarkably durable, missing just two games last season due to a back injury. The striker has been in prolific form, scoring 20 goals in 19 appearances across all competitions this season.

Despite Saturday’s draw, Bayern remain comfortably atop the Bundesliga table with a seven-point lead. They are also competing in the Champions League, where they currently sit 13th after five group-stage matches.
