Hardship : No going back on nationwide protest – NLC Says
In a statement released on Sunday, NLC President Joe Ajaero emphasized that intimidation and violence cannot alleviate the hardships faced by Nigerians.

The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) insists on proceeding with its planned two-day nationwide demonstration concerning the escalating cost of living, despite government attempts at intimidation.
In a statement released on Sunday, NLC President Joe Ajaero emphasized that intimidation and violence cannot alleviate the hardships faced by Nigerians.
The protest, scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, will be conducted peacefully, asserting citizens’ fundamental right to express grievances.
Ajaero urged the government to address the root causes of the rising cost of living instead of suppressing peaceful dissent.
He also called upon the United Nations and other international human rights organizations to ensure the protection of Nigerians’ right to peaceful protest.
The NLC expressed awareness of alleged government-backed groups planning to disrupt the peaceful rallies, but reiterated their determination to proceed peacefully, warning of potential consequences if met with violence.
