Hardship : DSS urges NLC to suspend nationwide protest
The DSS, while acknowledging the NLC’s right to protest, expressed concerns that certain elements may exploit the situation to incite violence, exacerbating the socio-economic challenges facing the nation.

The Department of State Services (DSS) has urged the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to reconsider its planned nationwide protest, emphasizing the importance of peace and public order.
The DSS, while acknowledging the NLC’s right to protest, expressed concerns that certain elements may exploit the situation to incite violence, exacerbating the socio-economic challenges facing the nation.
Instead, the DSS encouraged dialogue and negotiation to address these issues, highlighting ongoing efforts by authorities and stakeholders.
They cautioned against actions that could escalate tensions and endanger the country’s stability, calling on all sectors of society to promote peace and unity.
Additionally, the DSS advised parents, political parties, religious and traditional institutions, civil society groups, and citizens to refrain from acts of violence and divisive rhetoric, affirming their commitment to ensuring lasting peace in the country through collaboration with other security agencies.
