Gbajabiamila Calls for Unity After Supreme Court Upholds Tinubu’s Presidential Victory
After months of legal disputes, the Supreme Court unanimously confirmed Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 election.
Femi Gbajabiamila, who serves as Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, has urged both Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate, and Peter Obi, the Labour Party candidate, to heed the Supreme Court’s ruling and work together for the betterment of Nigeria.
After months of legal disputes, the Supreme Court unanimously confirmed Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 election.
The panel, led by Justice John Okoro, determined that the appeals by Obi and Abubakar against Tinubu lacked merit and should be dismissed.
Gbajabiamila, speaking to reporters in Abuja following the ruling, emphasized the need for unity and progress, stating, “The litigation is a distraction.
The litigants exercised their right to go to court, but that chapter has now closed. We must come together as a nation and move forward to advance our country.”
He commended the Supreme Court’s judgment as sound and non-partisan, and stressed the importance of working collectively to address governance issues, regardless of political affiliations.
Gbajabiamila underlined President Tinubu’s commitment to extending a hand of fellowship to all Nigerians for the betterment of the nation.
