FULL PROFILE : All you need to know about Abdulquawiy Olododo, Kwara’s commissioner nominee
Growing up, Abdulquawiy was a member of the Kwara State and National Children’s parliament, where he served as the chairman House committee on ethics, rules, and business at the state children’s parliament and later as the vice chairman of the senate committee on information at the National Children’s Parliament. As a member of the children’s parliament, he was instrumental in the establishment of the first family court in Kwara state, as well as the bills that prohibit child hawking during school hours and provision of free immunization for children between ages 0-5.


Abdulquawiy Olododo, born and raised in Ilorin, Kwara State, is a serial entrepreneur and public servant who has impacted the lives of many through his various initiatives and projects.
Growing up, Abdulquawiy was a member of the Kwara State and National Children’s parliament, where he served as the chairman House committee on ethics, rules, and business at the state children’s parliament and later as the vice chairman of the senate committee on information at the National Children’s Parliament. As a member of the children’s parliament, he was instrumental in the establishment of the first family court in Kwara state, as well as the bills that prohibit child hawking during school hours and provision of free immunization for children between ages 0-5.
He and his colleague representing Kwara state at the National level also flagged off an initiative tagged kiddies sight saving endowment fund, KIDSEF, with which they raised funds to pay for the eye surgery of over 170 indigent children between 2010 and 2013.
After earning his B.Eng in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Kwara State University, Abdulquawiy co-founded an agriculture start-up company, which has trained over 8000 students in agro entrepreneurship and managed over 2,000 hectares of farmland.
As a result of his impact on the agriculture sector, he received numerous awards and recognitions, including The United Nations POLAC Peace Ambassador and Ecowas Youth Ambassador award.
In April 2020, Abdulquawiy was appointed by the Governor of Kwara State to serve as his Technical Assistant on Agriculture, where he facilitated the 10 years Agriculture Transformation Plan and the input subsidy scheme, which allowed over 20,000 farmers to benefit from farm inputs at a highly subsidized rate of 50%. He also played a significant role in implementing the Agricultural mechanization program, which has served over 10,000 smallholder farmers in the state.
His efforts in implementing the Agricultural plan also led to the digitization of the farmer’s data bank, where 108,000 farmers have been captured, enumerated, and verified alongside their respective farm coordinates to better help Government planning and intervention in reaching the actual farmers. Abdulquawiy facilitated a series of investments into the state’s agricultural sector, including the partnership with Friesland Campina Wamco to develop the Livestock value chain in the State.
After 14 months of serving as Technical Assistant on Agriculture to the Governor, Abdulquawiy was appointed the Ag—General Manager of the Kwara State Social Investment Programmes. Within 10 months of his tenure, He was able to deliver various safety net programmes, such as Petty trader money, entrepreneurship grants, solar-powered kiosks empowerment, Widows programme, Farmer support programmes, and Public workfare programmes, to reach over 200,000 Kwarans.
In recognition of his outstanding leadership and contributions to public management, Abdulquawiy holds a certificate in the role of leadership in strategic management from the Metropolitan School of Business and Management, UK, and was awarded a doctorate degree in public management, outstanding excellence award, and inspirational leadership honor in West Africa by the Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics, Ghana.
Despite his numerous achievements, Abdulquawiy remains humble and committed to using his skills and expertise to positively impact the lives of those around him.
