Former Katsina Governor Ibrahim Shema joins APC

Former Katsina State governor, Ibrahim Shema, has left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). He received his APC membership card at the Shema ward office in Dutsinma, presented by APC state chairman Sani Aliyu.
Governor Umaru Radda welcomed Shema to the APC, describing his switch as a homecoming, noting that Shema and the previous governor, Aminu Masari, had both worked under the late former President Musa Yar’Adua.
APC state chairman Sani Daura commended Radda and Masari for their roles in Shema’s defection, assuring that the former governor would receive equal treatment within the party.
Shema’s move wasn’t entirely unexpected; he had faced sanctions from the PDP’s national working committee for alleged anti-party activities following the 2023 general election.
