Federal Govt Allocates N15 Billion for Third Mainland Bridge Repairs

The Federal Government’s allocation of N15 billion for the repairs of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos is part of the N2.18 trillion supplementary budget, intending to conduct urgent comprehensive repairs and rehabilitation on the bridge.
This allocation comes after the National Assembly’s approval and is earmarked to address necessary repairs on specific sections of the bridge, with closures scheduled for certain ramps from November 6, 2023, for a period of five weeks.
The Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, highlighted challenges in payment to contractors as a primary reason for the delay and abandonment of several road projects across the country.
He emphasized the critical nature of timely payments to ensure the progress and completion of infrastructure projects.
