Funke Akindele’s ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ has set a new record as the highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time, earning an impressive N1.466 billion at the box office.

The milestone was announced by FilmOne Studios, an entertainment company, via Instagram on Tuesday. The post celebrated the movie’s achievement, which comes less than a month after its release on December 11.

“Everybody Loves Jenifa has officially hit a historic N1.466 billion and counting at the box office, making it the highest-grossing film of all time!” the statement read.

The studio expressed gratitude to fans in Nigeria and Ghana for their overwhelming support, adding, “On to even greater heights! Still showing in cinemas near you—experience the magic on the big screen.”

The movie, a continuation of the beloved *Jenifa* franchise that debuted in 2008, features a star-studded cast, including Layi Wasabi, Nancy Isime, Jackie Appiah, Falz, Omowunmi Dada, Chimezie Imo, Patience Ozokwor, and Stan Nze.

This is yet another groundbreaking achievement for Funke Akindele, whose previous projects have also rewritten Nollywood’s box office records.

In January 2024, her movie *‘A Tribe Called Judah’* became the first Nollywood film to gross N1 billion at the Nigerian box office. Before that, *‘Battle On Buka Street’* held the title of Nollywood’s highest-grossing movie in 2023, raking in N640 million.

With ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’, Akindele continues to solidify her legacy as one of the most influential figures in Nollywood.
