The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) has condemned the Tuesday’s Lekki Tollgate that claimed many lives of the innocent citizens, charging government to brought those behind the improper act to book and face the wrath of law, because we are in democracy era.
This is contained in a statement signed on Wednesday 21st Oct, 2020 by the National President of the Association, Alh Abdullahi Babatunde Salaudeen and the National Publicity Secretary, Alh Muhammed Uthman Jagunma in Ilorin, the kwara state capital.
The Ilorin Emirate Youth described the protests as a clear message by the Nigerian youth to the government and advised government to attend to their requests for the development of the country.
The IEYDA noted that Nigeria government will not attend to matter concern citizens until resulted to protest but the ongoing protest against SARS as give the country bad image.
The statement stressed that no meaningful development would be achieved in the atmosphere of violence and bloodshed, calling on the protesters to end violence to allow peace to reign in the nation.
The statement however urged the protesters across the country to end the protests for peace of the nation, warning them not to be use by those that not have interest of this country in their minds to destroy our nation for the unborn generations.
