Emir of Ilorin to be Installed as First Chancellor of Muhammad Kamalud-deen University

Muhammad Kamalud-deen University in Ilorin is set to install the Emir of Ilorin, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, as its first Chancellor on May 11th. The university’s administration has finalized preparations for the event, which will take place during the institution’s inaugural matriculation ceremony.

The announcement was made in a statement released by the Emir’s spokesperson, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona. According to the statement, the ceremony will be held at the university’s campus in the Ogidi-Oloje area, where Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, who is also the Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, will be formally installed as the university’s first Chancellor.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari is a former Justice of the Court of Appeal and the 11th Emir of Ilorin. He has previously served as the Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Anambra State and the Federal University of Agriculture in Benue State. Recently, the federal government appointed him as the Chancellor of Bayero University Kano.

The statement highlights that Alhaji Sulu-Gambari has shown a strong commitment to education, morality, and social values in the Ilorin Emirate and beyond throughout his reign. It calls on the people of the Ilorin Emirate and others to attend this significant event.
